Food ~ Din Tai Fung, Megamall + OneU with Huey&Hazel

So now my holidays are loaded with food + sleep + entertainment
That's all I do ..
so it's about time I load my blog with food

I have actually a lot of bad things to say about that day but since I'm blogging
my style of blogging is all the good side of it.
I never like to blog about anything related to sad-ness, emo-ness or angry-ness. LOL



So finally I went to Din Tai Fung which is at The Gardens , Megamall.
It's always loaded with people and somehow it's not cheap ..
so it's either

1. Food must be really good that people are willing to burn their wallets OR
2. It's the crave to just eat for the sake of eating in the crowd like the donut fever.

So since my dad gave thumbs up as he ate it before in China, Not that DTF is available worldwide from US, Australia to HK, China and now finally Malaysia. We had to order the food outside and wait for our seats for sometime. approx : 10 mins. And I must say for the huge amount of crowd (full house), the food came quite fast. Owh well, they only had a number of standard dishes. No surprise. Food ranges around RM 10 + to RM 20+. I wouldn't say it's that expensive since the food are in good quality and the mee are handmade. If you want to go for good shanghainese food then here's the place for you. Though I still think the one in Jade Garden at Beijing was the best I've ever had. Their pork was shaped in a tiny pyramid y'all !

Anyway, this was what I ate =P



This is what you call "ngau lam mee" which is like Braised Beef Noodle.
I must say I would like if they gave me a little bit more.
It's the most expensive noodle in the menu ok ?
I would say I give it 4.5/5 cause I like eating this dish actually XD *buyers*
It's as good as the HK restaurant nearby my apartment in Beijing last time =)

Next, "ha kau" which is like the Prawn dish in Dim Sum
(I'm bad at translating back into English)
Parents loved it but is it me who thinks all the Ha Kau taste the same just the matter of giving you a small prawn or bigger prawn ? LOL and the pastry is either thicker or thinner ? LOL
I would give it 2.5/5 cause it's just HA KAU ! LOL
and it taste like Prawn no matter how i chewed it LOL

and of course the famous shanghainese food you should all know
"Siu Long Pau" . Let me tell you my history of eating SLP.

1. The first time I ate was on a Trishaw ride in old streets of Beijing. Since we landed there on first day while waiting for my tour guide - I saw this hawket stall and they were selling it for like 5 yuen = RM 2.50 ? While the trishaw was doing their tokyo drift which almost make me fly out of the trishaw and my SLP like jumping around , I must say it's quite an experience. Only the SLP was like those small Pau . Pastry was a little too thick.

2. I think the next time I ever ate this was like in Esquire Kitchen. You know the standard dishes they usually have. Nothing special since it's too comman and large production made the SLP quality drop down the river.

3. Next was at my dad's apartment in Beijing. There was this shop who sell SLP. around 10 for 3 yuen = RM 1.50 = <3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u254/syohm/IMG_3283copy.jpg">

Haven ate the one in Dragon- I or the other famous Shanghainese restaurant,
but so far I think they have the best Siu Long Pau I tasted in Malaysia.
I'll rate it 4.5/5.

But eating one is cost around rm2+ ?
so like when you eat one, you're burning 2 bucks from your pocket already XD

This is their "siew mai" which is not much different from the SLP,
only they have a prawn on top with a unique tower XD
over I prefer the "siew long pau" . Rate it 3/5

One Utama with Huey & Hazel

Yea, was suppose to go out with all my highschool gfs almost a total of 9 girls.
And one by one all ffk with all bullshit reasons. you know all the yada yada reasons they will say that goes in your left eat and goes out your right eat. So heard enough, me & Li huey proceed with the plan and join Hazel whos there too as her brother had an interview.



and my god, Hazel cuts her hair till she looks like Baby Doll.
when she was trying out a top she was asking my opinion ,



Hazel : So what you think of it ?
SY : *stares at hair*
Hazel : TANG SU YI ! STOP LOOKING AT MY HAIR ! I'M ASKING YOU MY TOP !
SY : But it looks so different, your hair ... *laughing*
Hazel : TANG SU YI ! !!!!
SY : hahahhaha. Yee Chien got good friend edi.

Hazel : I do not look LALA !

Owh well , not really use to the new look yet but Li huey suggested she looks like Wen Yah
which now really reminds me of Wen Yah everytime I look at her. LOL

We went Secret Recipe since both Hazel and Li huey wanted it.
The most beautiful part of it,
we celebrated Li Huey's birthday but me & hazel ate the cake LOL
(cause Li huey was too full after eating her macaroni & nasi lemak . nyeheh)
